About the Friends of the Byram Shubert Library Book Sale
The Friends of the Byram Shubert Library are a vital part of the library community. The dedicated members of the Friends group work to raise money at book sales that allow our library to provide programs that otherwise would not be possible.
Guidelines for Book Donations
Remember, if you would not give it to a friend, please do not give it to the Friends!
Our sales are only as good as the donations we get. We can only sell items in good condition. Books that are damp, moldy or smelly, have torn covers, missing pages, or have been nibbled on by the family pet cannot be sold. Please recycle these books yourself.
Donations should be in sturdy containers (boxes) of a reasonable size; liquor store boxes are ideal. It is especially helpful if you sort fiction and non-fiction into separate boxes.

Where can I bring my donation?
Next Drop-Off date: Saturday, October 10th, 9am—11am
Donations can be left near the garage at St. Paul Church, located at 55 William St West in Byram. Please do not leave donations if there is a chance of inclement weather, as it sometimes takes our volunteers a few hours to move the donations inside. If donations get wet/damp, they will be thrown out.
Donations can also be brought to this location on scheduled Book Drop Off Days. See the Byram Shubert Library Calendar of Events for upcoming collection days.
Can someone pick up my donation?
Please call the sale chairperson at 203-570-8527 to see if a pickup can be arranged if you are moving, have a large quantity of books, or have any other questions about the sale itself.
Can I get a receipt for my donation?
If you would like a receipt for income tax purposes, please leave a self-addressed stamped envelope with your donation including a note specifying how many boxes, bags, or items you are leaving and we will be happy to mail you a receipt. The Friends do not assign a value to the books you donate. You will need to determine the value of your donation.
How can I help? How can I become a Super Sorter?
The Friends are actively seeking volunteers to help with the book sale set up and sorting. If you would like to volunteer, Email the friends at email@example.com. Look for upcoming sorting parties on the Byram Shubert Library Event Calendars. Volunteering for the book sale is fun and volunteers get to shop first!
