Children's Events

Children's events include musical productions, puppeteers, plays and other types of programs targeted toward children ages 3 to 8. Performances are held 4 to 5 times per year in the Cole Auditorium on Saturday afternoons. Tickets are free and are available on a "first come first serve" basis starting at noon on the day of the performance in the lobby of the Cole Auditorium. Performances begin at 2 pm and usually last 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Please contact Kirsten Pitts or Julia Dunn for more information.

Music with Mariana!

Where: Cos Cob Library at Community Room

The Staff and Friends of the Cos Cob Library welcome one and all to a bilingual music concert by Mariana Iranzi to celebrate DIA DE LOS NINOS (The Day of the Child.) Each year Mariana returns to Cos Cob Library with an interactive program of songs involving movement and dance. Come, enjoy, and participate in the fun!

Children's Program "One Heart/One World" with Hands on Drumming

When: Monday, May 04, 2015 - 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: Byram Shubert Library at Community Room

Participants get to play percussion instruments. Native American, African, Caribbean and Latin stories, song and dance are all integrated in this participatory experience. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Silly Song Sing-a-Long with Edward Leonard

When: Tuesday, May 19, 2015 - 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM
Where: Cos Cob Library at Community Room

The Friends and Staff of the Cos Cob Library invite one and all to a music program featuring Edward Leonard. Act silly, dance, and sing along as Edward presents a mix of popular children's songs, interactive musical games, dance, movement, and rhythms for children 9 years and under and their families. Don't miss the fun!

Superhero Cartooning Workshop!

When: Thursday, June 25, 2015 - 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: Cos Cob Library at Community Room

There is a superhero inside each one of us. The Friends and Staff of Cos Cob Library welcome cartoonist, Debra Hanuka-Falkenham, who will present her superhero cartoon program and "hands on" workshop where children will complete a Superhero Poster to take home with them!
