Business Resources

The Peterson Business Wing is located on the Main Level of the Greenwich Library. RESCHEDULED World Affairs Forum, Great Decisions, Energy Independence

This event has been RESCHEDULED to May 19th.Dr. Jonathan Chanis will speak on Monday, April 28 at 7 pm in the Cole Auditorium as part of the Great Decisions Series, co-sponsored by the World Affairs Forum and Greenwich Library.

Chanis says, 'It is undeniable that the US serves as the de facto guardian of the international trade in petroleum, and that the global petroleum supply chain functions the way it does because the US and many supporting countries (such as Saudi Arabia and Russia) accept the body of formal and informal rules and norms that regulate international interaction over petroleum. The crux of the petroleum-foreign policy issue is the degree to which concern over petroleum distorts American foreign policy by involving the US in regions where it would otherwise have little or no interest.'

Jonathan Chanis has worked in energy and finance for over 25 years. Currently he is Managing Member, New Tide Asset Management, a proprietary vehicle focused on global and resource investing.

Great Decisions, a program of the Foreign Policy Association, is presented by the World Affairs Forum, whose mission is to expand understanding of global affairs and America's role in the world. This event is co-sponsored by Greenwich Library and is open to all at no charge. For more information contact the World Affairs Forum.
