The Peterson Business Wing is located on the Main Level of the Greenwich Library. Funds for construction of this wing and its endowment were the generous gift of Clementine Lockwood Peterson, whose bequest funded the Business Library in memory of her husband, J. Whitney Peterson. Business materials and databases are paid for by funds from the Town of Greenwich and the Peterson Foundation.

SCORE - Preparing for Business Disruption and Disaster

Every business is at risk from systems brought down by natural disruptions: a fire next door, downed power lines, a hurricane-like Sandy, and more. Participants will learn how to identify and assess risk, define critical business functions, assure security and availability of data, information, and continuity of supplies; also how to establish insurance needs and strengthen the company's Business Operations Plan. Manu Bhagavan

World Affairs Forum Great Decisions - India

As part of the World Affairs Forum Great Decisions program, Manu Bhagavan, Professor of History at Hunter College will speak about India and the Promise and Peril of Recent Elections in the World's Largest Democracy at Greenwich Library on Monday, February 23 at 7 pm. The program will be held in the Library’s Cole Auditorium.

Manu Bhagavan is a specialist on modern India, focusing on the twentieth-century late-colonial and post-colonial periods, with particular interests in human rights, (inter)nationalism, and questions of sovereignty. At Hunter College Bhagavan lectures on modern world and South Asian history, and offers seminars on Gandhi, modern India, and violence and ethnic conflict to undergraduates. His graduate classes focus on human rights and internationalism.

Manu Bhagavan’s most recent book is The Peacemakers: India and the Quest for One World, published by HarperCollins India in 2012 and updated and expanded by Palgrave Macmillan in 2013. This first-of-its-kind international history is based on seven years of research in twenty archives on three continents. He is on the faculty at Hunter College and at The Graduate Center at CUNY.

Great Decisions, a program of the Foreign Policy Association, is presented by the World Affairs Forum, whose mission is to expand understanding of global affairs and America’s role in the world. This event is co-sponsored by Greenwich Library and is open to all at no charge.
