ABOUT

About The Library

The Greenwich Library system consists of the Main Library and Byram Shubert and Cos Cob branches. With 1,800 programs and events per year, the Library serves as the cultural and intellectual crossroads of the community. Greenwich Library’s circulation is among the highest of public libraries in Connecticut and has been named a five-star library by Library Journal for 11 of the past 12 years for patron visits, circulation, use of public computers, and attendance at events.

The mission of Greenwich Library is to provide exceptional resources, programs and services that promote the joy of lifelong learning and discovery, and to offer a welcoming place for people to gather and share experiences.

Greenwich Library Reconnects

The Library’s new three-year strategic plan highlights two primary priorities and seven areas of focus. It is designed to focus on reconnecting community members with Library services, helping community members reconnect with one another, and building connections within the Library. Usage data about collections, programs, and services will be collected to inform the next comprehensive strategic planning initiative, set to take place in 2025.

This Plan was developed with significant collaboration between Library Staff, Board of Trustees, Friends of Greenwich Library, Friends of the Byram Shubert Library, and Friends of Cos Cob Library.
