The Friends of Cos Cob Library

The Friends of Cos Cob Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to encouraging and assisting the work of the Cos Cob Branch of the Greenwich Library by providing information to the community, sponsoring programs, and coordinating the volunteer activities of the Cos Cob Library. The Friends reach out to children, students, teachers, and adults to nurture a lifelong love of reading and to introduce the vast print and non-print resources of the Library. The Friends membership dollars help defray expenses outside the Library’s budget with gifts of equipment, extra supplies, and by sponsoring:

  • Adults’ Programs (including book discussion groups, author presentations, and genealogy workshops)
  • Educational & Computer Workshops
  • Cultural Programs
  • Entertainment Programs
  • Art Exhibits
  • Craft Activities
  • Theme Events
  • Holiday Parties
  • Social Events
  • Concerts
  • Children’s / Young Adult Programs
  • Book Sales

Friends Members show continued support for the Library. Becoming a member is an opportunity for community service and involvement in hosting programs and exhibits, shelf reading, and assisting with event hospitality.
