Karen M. McManus’ latest thriller You’ll Be The Death of Me, like her other stories, is a real page-turner!
High school students Ivy, Mateo, and Cal decide to skip classes one day and head off to downtown Boston. There, they spot incoming student president Boney Mahoney entering a building that one of the three students is very familiar with. Things take a turn when Boney is found dead in the building’s art studio and, after attempting to get back to school before anybody finds out, Ivy -who lost the class presidency to Boney- winds up the prime suspect. But who really did kill Boney, and how do the personal lives of Ivy, Mateo, and Cal figure in the overall situation?
Lots of twists and turns in this one in You’ll Be The Death of Me! Let’s just say everybody in this story, including the art teacher, the gym coach, Ivy’s brother, and Mateo’s cousin, aren’t all that they seem. McManus weaves an intricate plot with plenty of surprises and, like in her previous novel The Cousins, has a surprise ending that may lead to a follow-up sequel. Definitely check this one out!
